Before Endodontic Treatment Conroe TX
Most procedures will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work. Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other conditions as recommended by your physician. If there is a question, please call our Conroe endodontist office prior to your appointment.
Please eat a normal breakfast or lunch as applicable and drink plenty of water.
As of 2007, The American Heart Association recommends that only those patients with a congenital heart defect that is untreated or problematic, those with artificial heart valves or those with a history of previous infective endocarditis be pre-medicated. Also, if you have had a knee or hip joint replaced in the last 2 years, you also may need premedication. As a courtesy to our patients, we provide the medication prior to your procedure. (If your doctor still feels that you should pre-medicate prior to the procedure, we will provide the antibiotics or call in your prescription for you)
If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.
If you can take ibuprofen (Advil), it does help reduce inflammation when taken pre-operatively. We recommend 3-4 tablets 1-2 hours before endodontic therapy.
